My 3 Final poses

My final leader pose face looking focused and ready to win.

My final celebration pose, showing him cheering again with different facial expressions mouth open cheering to the audience, the lines coming from behind him showing the motion and direction hes just ran from.

My final Kicking pose, I added colour to the arms and legs to make him look more like a terrier colour. Changed the facial expressions to make him look like hes looking towards the goal focused. Lines from the back of his leg to show the power about to be put into the ball, this shows the action taking place.

Devlopment of my final characters.

These show the outline development of each pose, created on illustrator.

What Parents will think of Terry

When creating my Mascot i needed him to be a good role model to children but also a character that the parents approved of, the first pose i did was of him being the leader with his hands behind his back looking focused, proud to be representing Huddersfield town, showing respect for himself and his team members which is always something parents would want to to see in there children.
The second pose of him kicking the ball this shows the quality and ability of him, the trust the rest of the team have for him to score the winning goal, trust in himself that he will be able to score, children will look up to him and aspire to be like him.
The third pose of him celebrating from the goal hes just scored shows through his commitment and hard work, success comes at the end of it.
This is what parents want there children to grow up like, not nessersarly in football but in everyday life, at school and when they grown up to get jobs.

Leader pose images

The leader pose with the chest puffed out stepping out the tunnel focused on winning, i like the image of terry looking focused.

Kicking pose

These are examples of a the footballers about to kick the ball, all looking focused on the ball and where they want it to go. i like the last one of lampard to take the pose for my terrier with his arm and leg high in the air to show power.

Celebration poses

Examples of a football celabration, iv noticed that most of them involve a hands in the air to the audience for cheers. i like this john terry pose, he has a strong male V shape figure to base the shape of my first pose on.

I wanted to create the head off the dog to to look almost exactly like a yorkshire terrier as the previous mascot looks more like a bear. I gave my terriers head a blue eye mask to add charector and make him look more like a mysterious super hero and blue because its the huddersfield town colours.

Other Team Mascots.

This is Gunnersaurus Rex the mascot for Arsenal FC, his apperence appeals to young children as a friendly dinosaur but his physique is very out of shape makes him look fat even tho hes surpose to be this is not a very good role model for young children.

This is Sherwood the old nottingham forest mascot, again he had the same problems at Terry the Terrier, he also looks like he needs to go to the gym, i think this is why they decided to change there mascot to robin hood, a good role model for young children, protrayed as a hero.

Terry's 3 poses

I am required to create 3 images that show terry doing the following poses below each one is my rough thumbnail example of how i want these to look,

  • Celebrating scoring an out of this world goal, he has effortlessly ran the full length of the pitch to reach the home supporters so that he can show them he has won for them.
  • Leg raised and his foot about to make contact with the ball that is going to end up in the back of the net, i am going to show his foot making contact with the ball but he must be looking where the ball is going not at the ball.

  • The leader pose, chest puffed up as he steps out of the tunnel for the FA cup final at wemberly, face intensely focused on nothing but winning.

I cant make Terry wink or look cheeky in any way, he needs to look like a world beater so he cant stare at the camera or look like hes acting in any way.

Targetting my audience.

When it comes to developing my character i need to design it for my target audience 0-11 year olds, i need to make my character to be in touch with action heroes. The commercial director of Huddersfield Town FC (Sean Javis) said that he wants the new mascots physical actions to be portrayed in the way of the childrens animated series 'Ben 10' and have a feel that they are interested in exploring. I need to look at how physical action is representated in the still frames. I need to capture action and represent it to my target audience so they believe that action is taking place as shown in the images below.

After researching what my target audience thought that the key words meant to them i found out that they thought,

  • honesty- telling the truth
  • intergrity- didnt really know what this word meant.
  • trust- always being able to rely on someone to do something for you.
  • comitment- making a promise and sticking by it.
  • quality- apperances and good values.
  • pride- when your not embarrassed to do something.
  • respect- dont question superias.
  • character- type of person you are.
  • value- what somethings worth.
  • success- to do well.

My target audience were close to what the words actually meant (in earlier blog) i decided that i need to base my Anthropomorphism charactoristics on this when develouping my male body, terrier head mascot.
